Terminologies

SNOMED CT®
SNOMED is a systematically organized computer processable collection of medical terminology covering most areas of clinical information such as diseases, findings, procedures, microorganisms, pharmaceuticals etc. It allows a consistent way to index, store, retrieve, and aggregate clinical data across specialties and sites of care.
ICD
ICD The ICD is the international standard diagnostic classification for all general epidemiological, many health management purposes and clinical use.
RxNorm
RxNorm provides normalized names for clinical drugs and links its names to many of the drug vocabularies commonly used in pharmacy management and drug interaction software, including those of First Databank, Micromedex, MediSpan, Gold Standard Alchemy, and Multum. By providing links between these vocabularies, RxNorm can mediate messages between systems not using the same software and vocabulary.
NDF-RT
NDF-RT, or the National Drug File Reference Terminology organizes drug lists into a formal representation. NDF-RT is used for modeling drug characteristics including ingredients, chemical structure, dose form, physiologic effect, mechanism of action, pharmacokinetics, and related diseases. NDF-RT is part of the Federal Medication Terminologies (FMT).
