Jamie Ferguson is a Fellow at the Institute for Health Policy and Vice President of health information technology (IT) strategy and policy for Kaiser Permanente (KP). Since 2005 he has been responsible for KP’s health IT priorities, policies, and standards, as well as government and industry relations. Jamie represents KP in multiple national and international organizations. Before this assignment, Jamie was responsible for development and operations of KP’s clinical and administrative data systems including KP's health IT informatics standards.

Prior to joining Kaiser Permanente, Jamie was a research investigator at Yale University School of Medicine; an economist in the US Federal Reserve System; a senior vice president and divisional chief information officer (CIO) at Bank of America; and an independent consultant. He has a degree in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry from Yale University and he studied computer science at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
