This page is for describing 'clinical model patterns' i.e. patterns which recur in certain clinical content models. The science is very new around this, so any description we make here will necessarily be a best effort for now rather than set in stone. Nevertheless, there are some years of experience which have produced some patterns, e.g.: 'score structure'; 'questionnnaire question'; 'computed attribute'; 'co-dependent elements' and so on.

Initial thoughts from openEHR[1] on how to describe such patterns might be a useful starting point. Additionally, the HL7 workgroup patient care has identified several clinical model patterns, that have been proven valid in several implementations. Models include the clinical statement pattern which allows for any clinical data collection, and patterns for lists such as a problem list, or allergy list. Other patterns are assessment scale pattern and vital signs pattern.

The table below just provides a list for now.
